ContentLens Privacy Policy
Last reviewed: August 12, 2026
ContentLens has no account, no backend and no telemetry. It collects no analytics, crash reports, usage measurements or persistent identifiers. No data reaches the authors of the extension.
Rules, feedback, settings, local diagnostics, recovery snapshots and optional derived indexes stay inside the extension storage in the user's browser profile. They are not uploaded by default. Diagnostics exclude page content, URLs, account identifiers and rule values. Uninstalling the extension removes this storage.
Network features are disabled until the user configures them. A user may optionally configure a model provider or a user-owned synchronization endpoint and grant access to that exact origin. Optional model requests send only the content required for the capability after explicit consent. Provider credentials are stored separately, encrypted, and are excluded from exports, diagnostics, logs and release artifacts. Reviewed feedback can be sent to a platform only after the user enables it and confirms each action.
Platform content is read locally by an isolated content script on platforms the user explicitly enables. RSS and Atom network acquisition is disabled. Nothing is shared, sold or transferred by ContentLens.
Users can export or import their profile, clear diagnostics, reset all local data and disable any platform or optional capability. ContentLens is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone.
