In short: this extension does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. Everything happens locally in your browser.


IG Video Controls adds a floating video control panel (play/pause, volume,
seek, playback speed, loop, download) to videos on Instagram. This policy
explains what the extension accesses, why, and what it does — and does not
do — with that access.

• downloads permission — used only to save a local copy of the
  Instagram video currently playing under the control panel, and only when
  the user explicitly clicks the panel's download button. Never used
  automatically, in the background, or without direct user action.
• Host permissions for instagram.com, cdninstagram.com, and
  fbcdn.net — required so the panel can be injected on Instagram pages,
  and so the download feature can retrieve the video/audio data for the
  video the user is currently watching from Instagram's own CDN domains.

The extension does not request or access the user's Instagram account,
login credentials, messages, contacts, or any browsing activity unrelated
to the video currently on screen.

• No data is collected or transmitted to any server.
• There is no backend server — the extension runs entirely in the browser.
• No tracking of browsing activity, on Instagram or elsewhere.
• No analytics, telemetry, or third-party tracking scripts.
• No selling, renting, or sharing of data (none is collected to begin with).
• No ads, no affiliate links.

Downloaded files are saved directly to the user's local downloads folder
via the browser's own download mechanism — the same as any other file
download. No other persistent data is stored by the extension.
