About this extension
On each supported site (YouTube, Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, Reddit, LinkedIn, Threads) this extension redirects the user from the algorithmic "For You" feed to the platform's own chronological following feed, and hides suggested posts, promoted content, and recommendations.
"Not for You" removes everything you didn't ask for: the suggested accounts, the promoted posts, the "people you may know." Instead, you only see what you signed up for: the people you follow, in the order they posted.
WHAT IT DOES, PER SITE
YouTube: Show Subscriptions instead of the Home feed, turn off autoplay, hide the Shorts row, hide "what to watch next"
Instagram: Show Following instead of the Home feed, hide the suggestions sidebar
X / Twitter: Show Following instead of the "For You" feed, hide trends and suggestions
TikTok: Show Following instead of the "For You" feed, hide the header bar
Facebook: Show the Feeds view instead of Home, hide the Reels tab
Reddit: Hide promoted posts and ads, hide Reddit's recommendations, use old Reddit
LinkedIn: Show Recent instead of the Top sort, hide promoted and suggested posts, hide the news sidebar
Threads: Show Following instead of the "For You" feed
It applies instantly and you can only opt into the changes you want. There's also a "Disable for 5 minutes" button for the times you want to fall down the rabbit hole on purpose.
HOW IT WORKS
Every platform already has a chronological feed. The extension sends you to it, then hides the promoted and suggested content around it. Nothing is injected or rewritten. Search, profiles, messages and posting work exactly as before.
This is different from a feed blocker. Blockers treat the feed as the problem: they blank it, cover it with a quote, or make you wait it out. That lasts until you actually want to use the site. The premise here is that the feed isn't the problem, the algorithm is.
PRIVACY
There is nowhere to send your data. No accounts, no servers, no analytics, and the extension makes no network requests of its own.
