Privacy Policy — Pekka: Video Downloader, Feed Cleaner & Background Play (Firefox)

This policy describes what data this Firefox build of the extension collects, why, and what happens to it — matching the code as shipped, not aspirational behavior.

1. What the extension does
   Pekka runs on tiktok.com to let you: download TikTok videos/audio (HD), bulk-clear your own Likes/Reposts/Favourites, auto-scroll the feed, and keep audio playing in the background. Pro tools require a license (email + license key) or a weekly free trial quota.
2. Browser history — NOT collected on Firefox
   This Firefox build does not request the "history" permission at all, and cannot read your browsing history. (A dormant, opt-in-only history-insights feature exists in the codebase and ships on this extension's Chrome build behind a flag that defaults off with no UI to enable it — it was deliberately left out of this Firefox submission entirely rather than shipping an unused sensitive permission. If that feature is ever wired to a real opt-in UI, this policy will be updated in the same release, and Firefox would only gain the permission alongside that visible feature.)
3. Download activity
   For the download tools (Pro), the extension tracks, for compatibility/debugging purposes: downloaded video URLs (metadata only, not the file content), download timestamps, and download success/failure status.
4. Usage & license metrics
   Which tools you activate and whether they succeed/fail (to fix bugs, not to profile you); your premium status and weekly free-trial quota usage; basic product analytics (feature usage counts, errors) via the bundled pekka-core analytics module — no third-party analytics SDK is used.
5. Account data
   Email address — only if you activate a Pro license, used solely to verify your purchase and link it to your license key. License key — stored locally to gate Pro tools, verified against our backend.
6. Chrome-only identity read — does not apply to this Firefox build
   On Chrome, the extension may best-effort read the browser profile's email to pre-fill the license-activation field. This Firefox build does not request that permission and has no equivalent behavior — email entry for license activation is always manual.
7. What we do NOT collect
   The content of videos you download; the text/content of pages you visit; your IP address beyond what any HTTPS request inherently exposes (standard request logs); payment card details (handled entirely by our payment processor, never by the extension).
8. Data retention
   Download logs: 90 days. Usage metrics: 1 year. Email / license: retained while your Pro license is active.
9. Third parties
   We do not sell or share your data with third parties. Data described above is sent only to our own backend (api.getpekka.com).
10. Your rights (CCPA / GDPR)
    You can request access to or deletion of your data by emailing blackwitch145@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
