Privacy Policy

This extension shows job seekers facts about public job postings and contributes anonymous observations of those postings to the Vibetown job transparency index.

What we collect. When you view a public job posting on a supported hiring site, the extension records the public facts of that posting: job title, employer name, location, employment type, posted date, disclosed salary range if any, the posting's public URL, and the date it was seen. This is public information about job postings, not information about you.

What we never collect. The extension never reads or transmits your resume, your job applications, your messages, your account pages, or anything visible only behind your login. Pages such as candidate dashboards and application forms are excluded by a built-in denylist. We collect no name, no email, no location of yours, and no browsing history outside the supported job posting pages.

Anonymous by design. Observations are sent under a randomly generated identifier that is not derived from you or your device and is automatically replaced every 14 days. Identifiers are never linked to each other, so observations cannot be connected to a person over time. We use the identifier only for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

Your controls. Collection can be switched off at any time from the extension, and the off switch is honoured fully: nothing is recorded and nothing is sent while it is off. You can view everything queued for upload inside the extension and delete it with one click. No account is required.

Retention. Raw observations are deleted from our servers after 12 months. Long-term statistics about postings (for example how long a vacancy stayed open) are kept, and contain no client identifiers of any kind.

Sharing and selling. We do not sell or share collected data with third parties. Aggregated, fully anonymous statistics about job postings (never about users) may be published as research.
