Delayed Switch to New Tab by 阳熙来

⏰ In the add-on settings, you can customize the forced switch time, cooldown time, and general delay time.

• Forced switch time: A newly opened tab will be selected no later than this time, whether or not the page has finished loading
• Cooldown time: Multiple tabs opened in succession within this period trigger only one switch, to the tab that was opened first
• General delay time: After a new tab finishes loading, the add-on waits a little longer to give the page time to complete its final loading

✨ Add-on features:

• Waits for a new background tab to finish loading before switching to it. Before using the add-on, set Firefox to open new tabs “in the background” (see the instructions below)
• Tabs opened with Ctrl/Command+click do not trigger an automatic switch by default
• For a tab opened with a regular click, click anywhere on the current page before the switch occurs to cancel it
• For a tab opened with Ctrl/Command+click, click anywhere on the current page before the tab finishes loading or the forced switch time is reached to enable automatic switching
• When several tabs are opened within a short period, only the earliest-opened tab is selected
• Browser windows do not affect one another, and the add-on will not force you into another window
• Common images, audio, video, and PDF files can be displayed sooner

🧭 Set browser tabs to open “in the background”: Enter about:config in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. Accept the risk warning, then find and change the following preferences so that new tabs open in the background and the add-on can work correctly.
