by Artistica, 8 years agoHalf the time Video DownloadHelper can't "see" any video to download. Says to click Play ... makes no difference ... it still sees no video even though one is playing.
The WEBMs take foreverrrrrrr to download and then another foreverrrrr or two foreverrrrrrrssssss to 'consolidate' or 'consummate' or 'calibrate' or 'carbonate' or whatever the heck it does. A 15 minute video--- if available as an MP4--- would download in 4 or 5 minutes, but when only available as a WEBM, it will take almost an hour before I finally have the full video with sound. What a mess!
I want the old version back. It just WORKED.
What are all those people using.... the ones who write those great reviews? They sure aren't using the same Video DownloadHelper I am. Mine's a slow mess. Can't see any video to download when one is playing right there in front of me. Takes an hour to download and re-join a short vid. I want the download helper all these good reviewers have... where do I get THAT one?

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 19046547, a day agoBecame a USELESS RIPOFF . Promised lifetime use for onetime fee. Don't waste your money ! Had not used it in a month and a half. Came back and now blames YT for limits. As though YT is approving them.
- Been using it for years, it was pretty good back then. Paid for the "lifetime" subscription years ago. It never stopped putting the QR code on videos, and there is no way to reach anyone about this, but it at least worked KINDA SORTA.
NOW it's completely useless, with this new waiting period scheme. Lately, it hasn't even been finding the YT videos at all.
I guess it's time to admit to myself that I was scammed out of my money, and look for a replacement.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD. I'm deleting it. If they ever make it work again -- without stupid schemes -- maybe I'll try it again.

Great quality of both images and sound and very quick download time. Sometimes YouTube blocks it, but with Proton VPN you can avoid or fix this. A must have add-on!
