by USER-EXPERIENCEONLY, 6 years agoJuly, 2022. Another dishonest lame "free" vpn. Forgets your login data and then puts you into an endless timeout trying to login. Then if you post a negative review which they richly deserve they will block your access to creating a new account after they lost your old data. Bunch of wankers who cannot program their way out of a paper bag and using the same GUI, which is crappy, slow and unresponsive since their inception probably because they cannot program a new GUI. From memory their speed was always slow and made even slower by the long time it takes them to log you in. THen you must give them youR ACTUAL email address defeating any chance you might have had for privacy. Just another worthess "free" vpn and you get what you pay for. Very small selection of "free proxies" and you have to hunt for them because their gui is so crappy and unresponsive. There is ONLY ONE good vpn free and I aint telling here which one it is. Good luck cuz they all suck save that one and even that one you have to pay if you want very many countries. NONE of them have residential ips so most sites will block you once they see your using a proxy. I guess you have to pay through the nose to get back to the way the net used to be 30 years ago from it's sad state today. An FFox admins you don't have to keep reminding me that I have to download ffox to use it's extension,I already know that, but my reviews are intended to benefit mozille, not evil google
FEB 15, 2021-cannot find our asses with both hands in the dark and a flashlight=cannot find tab. Bullshit time wasting another lame "Free vpn" all these crap vpn extensions, they must recruit from the local homeless shelters.
feb 7, 2021: This company does not listen to reviews or try to fix what's wrong with their add-on. Still the same terrible GUI, hard to navigate, hard to find free proxies, unstable connections. Really don't know why it is rated highly. I am using a competitor free proxy now haven't used windscribe in quite a while but keeping it as backup.
jan 24, 2021: stopped using it. there are NO GOOD FREE VPNS. I've tested them ALL and they ALL suck. This one GUI is very hard to use, slow hard to navigate, free servers difficult to locate. Another lame VPN what else is new.
too much trouble to use it. Hard to connect. User GUI is difficult to use-slow,non-responsive, hard to select. Often have trouble connecting. Lacking sufficient free proxies-hard to use it for free. Found a better vpn free that does not have these problems.

The website, and also the info provided here, does state that providing your email for confirmation/verification is required for the 10GB. They do also state that marketing emails will be sent. My issue is that they obfuscate the fact that access to the 10GB is ACTUALLY tied to receiving marketing spam, instead of being tied simply to email verification.
There is no customer support email on their website, and no user feedback forms or anything, so the AI chatbot told me to submit my complaint about this to the feedback channel on the Windscribe Discord.
There is no feedback channel on the Windscribe server. Lol. If you have an actual issue or complaint, your only option is to send a message to #General, where it'll get drowned out by other conversations and/or dogpiled by users who disagree. I was "lucky" and got a response back from an actual Windscribe employee, who generously told me, "You can opt out of email marketing by subscribing to Pro," and then just sent a gif that said DEAL WITH IT, which, yikes.
Basically the actual terms of use are deceptive and the business clearly has very little respect for users. If you have a complaint, either pay them money to get around the issue, or go screw yourself. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16620618, a day ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by leonone69, a month agoThis plugin behaves in a very unscrupulous manner: its default behavior is to connect automatically, and if the connection fails, it cuts off your internet access entirely. Furthermore, as long as the plugin is active—regardless of whether you are actually connected to the VPN—it enforces an "ad-blocking" function without providing any notification; it silently blocks certain connections, wasting your time as you try to troubleshoot the issue.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Lilith, a month agoIt was working till yesterday, now the extension is impossibly unstable and keeps asking for a proxy login; I tried to login in using my windscribe account but it didn't work.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 20000649, 2 months agoI installed this VPN and connected to the American server 2 days ago. Immediately after logging in, my Instagram and Facebook accounts were compromised and automated crypto scam photos started being sent to my friends. Oddly enough, no foreign devices appear in account security; In other words, session cookies were leaked directly. This is the first time in my life that I experience such a security vulnerability. I assume not extension but their servers compermised. The only new variable on my system was this application. Definitely not safe, stay away!

I've regained access to all the sites I once used prior to the new "age restrictions" the Government decided was needed to keep the children safe. I've been a user of Windscribe for years and now can add this to my machines that don't require all the features of the full application.
